About Me

Every therapist brings something more than qualifications into the therapy room. They bring a way of paying attention. Mine has been shaped by years of clinical practice, continued learning, supervision and an enduring curiosity about human experience. I am interested not only in why people suffer, but in how they make meaning out of their experience, adapt, relate, remember, hope and continue living through uncertainty. That curiosity has led me beyond psychology into philosophy, literature, history and art. Together, they continue to shape the way I listen.

I trained as a Rehabilitation Psychologist, where I learned to understand people as whole human beings rather than collections of symptoms or diagnoses. Rehabilitation Psychology invites us to see each person within the context of their body, mind, relationships, family, culture, environment and the opportunities and barriers that shape everyday life. This perspective continues to inform my work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including trauma, disability, chronic illness, neurodivergence, relationship difficulties, grief, life transitions and the ordinary complexities of being human.

My practice is intentionally integrative. My work primarily draws from trauma-informed psychotherapy, relational neuroscience, existential school of thought and psychodynamic inquiry. I do not experience these as competing schools of thought. Each offers a different way of understanding human experience. Together, they allow therapy to remain responsive to the person rather than constrained by a single theoretical model.

Alongside clinical practice, I continue to learn through supervision, personal therapy and interdisciplinary study. Philosophy reminds me to ask better questions. Literature teaches me that every life can be understood through more than one story. Art cultivates observation, patience and ambiguity. These disciplines continually remind me that no single theory can fully explain a human being.

Begin was created as a quiet practice where psychological science, thoughtful conversation and careful attention come together. My role is not to define your life for you, but to create the conditions in which your own understanding of yourself can gradually emerge, so that you can take greater ownership of your life. I believe that every person deserves to be met with curiosity before assumption, and with care before certainty.

Should we decide to work together, I hope our conversations become a place where you feel understood, challenged when needed and supported as you gradually come to know your own life more deeply.
